Common questions

What is residual cost, and why do you talk about it so much?
Residual cost is the money you still owe after a covered claim is paid. It happens when a warranty caps its exposure far below what the repair actually costs. Our limits are set at real Texas repair costs so the gap between what we pay and what the job costs is as small as we can make it — and we publish every number before you buy.
What does 'limit reached' mean, and how is it different from a denial?
Limit reached means the claim was covered and we paid up to your per-event or aggregate limit — you see the exact amount applied and what remains. Denied means the claim fell outside the contract; you get a plain reason and the contract section it comes from. We never use one word to mean the other.
When do I pay the $79 service fee?
The $79 service fee is paid when a covered service visit is performed. It is never charged at signup, never charged for filing a claim, and it is the same $79 on all three plans.
Do I have to wait before I can use my coverage?
Not if there is no gap. Where your manufacturer's warranty ends on or before your contract start date, coverage is immediate. Where a gap exists, a 30-day eligibility period applies to the affected items, and we tell you that at checkout before you accept.
I am buying a condo. What is mine and what is the association's?
Your plan covers what a unit owner is responsible for inside the unit — your furnace or air handler, water heater, in-unit plumbing from the shutoff, and your appliances. Common elements the association maintains, such as the roof, shared risers and central equipment, are not covered by your plan.
How do I cancel?
From your portal, or by emailing us. Cancel within 30 days of your contract start date with no claim paid and you receive a full refund of amounts paid. After that, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period with a pro-rata refund of the unused portion, less any claims paid.

How claims work, in full

File from your portal: choose the item, tell us the date it first stopped working, describe what is happening, and attach photos — photos are required for major systems so a contractor arrives with the right parts.

We check the claim against the plan version stamped on your contract, not against a schedule that changed since you signed. If we need something else, the status reads "need more info" and we tell you exactly what.

A network contractor is assigned and books with you directly. You pay the $79 service fee at the visit. If a repair exceeds your per-event limit, we apply the full limit and tell you the figure — that is "limit reached", and it is not a denial.

A claim filed on a major system in the first 15 to 30 days gets an extra review before a decision. It is not an accusation and it is never an automatic denial — no claim of ours is denied by a score.

If you disagree with a decision

The appeal path

  1. 1. Reply to the decision from your portal or email and say what you think we got wrong.
  2. 2. A claims lead who did not make the original decision reviews it — every fraud or material-misrepresentation denial requires two people by policy.
  3. 3. You receive a written outcome with the contract section it rests on, within five business days.
  4. 4. If you are still not satisfied, we tell you how to escalate to the Texas regulator. We will not hide that step from you.

Sample contract — version 2026.1

Read the whole thing before you pay anything.

1. What this contract is

This is a home service contract, not homeowner's insurance. Nobeus agrees to repair or replace the covered systems and appliances listed in your plan when they fail from normal wear, up to the limits in your limit schedule, for as long as you keep paying your monthly price.

2. When coverage starts

Coverage begins on the contract start date shown on your acceptance record. If you reported no gap between a manufacturer's warranty and this contract, there is no waiting period. If a gap exists, a 30-day eligibility period applies to the affected items.

3. The service fee

You pay $79 for each covered service visit, at the time of the visit. This fee is the same on every plan and is never charged for filing a claim.

4. Limits

Each plan has per-event limits and an annual aggregate limit, published in full on the plans page and in your portal. Where a repair exceeds a limit, we pay the limit and tell you the amount applied. No plan covers everything, and no limit is unlimited.

  • Systems aggregate$14,000
  • Complete aggregate$20,000
  • Premium aggregate$28,000

5. What is not covered

Known pre-existing failures you told us about or should have known about, cosmetic damage that does not affect operation, items still covered by a manufacturer's warranty, permit and code-upgrade costs beyond the Premium allowance, and anything your condominium association is responsible for.

6. Cancellation and refunds

Cancel within 30 days of the contract start date with no claim paid: full refund of amounts paid. After that: pro-rata refund of the unused portion of the current period, less claims paid. We confirm the effective date and refund amount in writing.

We collect the minimum, and use it for two things

We collect your name, contact details, property address and underwriting answers to decide whether we can cover your property and to dispatch a contractor when you file a claim. That is the whole purpose.

We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to third parties for their own marketing. We share what a network contractor needs to reach you and complete a covered repair, and nothing more.

Text messages about claim status or billing are sent only if you opt in. You can ask us to correct or delete your details at any time by emailing the address above.

How this website relates to your contract

The plan descriptions, limits and rules on this site summarise the home service contract in plain language. Where a summary and the contract ever disagree, the contract governs — and we treat any disagreement as a mistake on our side to correct.

Coverage is offered only in authorized, network-ready areas of Texas and Arizona, with more states coming soon. Nothing on this site is an offer of coverage outside those areas, and no coverage exists until you accept the contract and your first payment clears.

Prices shown are current and always displayed with the $79 service fee. Your monthly price will not change during your contract term without written notice.
